The Bikini Diary - What To Expect: Before, During & After Your Visit

Grab your favorite beverage as I give you gals a “prep-talk” for BEFORE your appointment.

PROPER LENGTH:

First things first, your hair needs to be grown out. Now don’t be startled if you’re someone who shaves/trims every couple of days. Your hair only needs to be about 1/4 of an inch long. HOLD OFF ON BREAKING OUT YOUR RULER. Just think of a grain of rice, and use that as a general idea for the right length. On average this takes a person 7-10 days after shaving to achieve optimal hair length for waxing.

PAIN RELIEF:

Depending on your pain threshold, I usually advise all of my first timers to take some sort of over the counter pain relief such as ibuprofen or advil about 20-30 minutes before their appointment. This helps A LOT!

CAFFEINE INTAKE:

If you’re like me and can down coffee all day long, I would refrain from doing so on the day of your appointment. You can still enjoy your cup of joe, but try to keep your caffeine intake lower than usual as high levels of caffeine can cause increased sensitivity, aka its going to hurt more. (Drinking alcohol in excess the night before or right before your appointment also does this)

MENSTRUAL CYCLE:

Another factor that causes us women to be more sensitive to things (not just emotionally) is our period. The week before you start, and the week that you are on your period, you will be increasingly sensitive and the waxing will hurt quite a bit for some. I advise everyone to plan their waxes around their periods and wait for 3 days AFTER your cycle has ended to get a wax. There are some exceptions, however. If you have an event and you’re on the tail end of your cycle, you can still get waxed and your sensitivity won’t be has high as the days and week before. This is actually quite common. I just please ask that you come in wearing a fresh tampon before your service.

CALL ME:

If for any reason you need to hear my voice to guide you before booking, please do not hesitate to call me. I am here for you through and through and I know how scary this can be. If you book with me, I will tell you my own experiences with waxing and you will be shocked that after what I went through, waxing still became a passion of mine. (The story is actually pretty funny now, looking back at it)

The dreaded DURING

COMMUNICATE:

Letting me know how you’re feeling during the process will make a world of difference for you. We are all unique and experience things differently. I block out 30 minutes for bikini services incase you need some extra time to breathe and brace yourself. (My fastest brazilian performed on a woman new to waxing was 8 minutes). So trust me when I say, I know what I am doing, but I also want to tend to your needs however I can to make the experience as painless as possible.

Okay, take a deep breath. It's all over girls! You've survived your first bikini wax!

ENJOY YOUR SMOOTH SKIN GIRL

Its highly recommended to pre-book your next visit before leaving. I have implemented a point system that can be used in place of money. When you pre-book, you will receive 1 point which is equivalent to $1.00. You do lose the point if you have to cancel your appointment, but you keep them if you reschedule for a different date. They do not expire and you can save them up to use towards any services and products. And don't forget to tell your other gal pals about your experience. For every referral you send in, you'll receive 5 points ($5) awarded to your account to use towards your next wax or other beauty services we offer.
